Canadian speed skaters support upcoming MS Bike Tour

Saturday, 30 May 2009

On June 13-14 several Canadian speed skaters will once again participate in the MS Bike Tour, a two-day 180-km trip from Airdrie to Olds and back, to help build more awareness of Multiple Sclerosis and to raise as much money as possible for MS research. This week's video shows one of the men's team Pursuit races in Torino 2006: Italy vs The Netherlands, Sven Kramer takes a fall after which the Dutch team had to settle for the bronze medal. Italy took the gold.

With less than a year to go, it’s time to start focusing on Vancouver 2010. On Saturday 13 February 2010, the Olympic long track speed skating events will kick off in Richmond with the men’s 5000m. Will Chad Hedrick successfully defend his Olympic title or will Sven Kramer or someone else climb on the highest step of the Olympic podium?

To count down to this day, Speedskating-online is happy to present the Olympic Gallery . Every week we will post a new Olympic video, like Dan Jansen’s gold medal race in Hamar, Italy’s gold medal in the Team Pursuit in Torino, and Johann-Olav Koss’ amazing 13.30.55 during the Winter Games in Lillehammer.

So stay tuned and don’t miss it!
